چکیده

Basic studies on concentrated solutions are becoming more and important due to the practical industrial geological applications. The use in redox flow batteries is one of most applications these solutions. Specifically, this paper we investigated high-concentrated copper chloro-complexes with different additives. concentration ligands additives affects physicochemical electrochemical properties 2 M Cu(I) Cu(II). Solutions calcium chloride HCl as Cl− source were Cu:Cl ratios 1:5 1:7, ratio being best performing. substitution ammonium increased conductivity. However, while effect positive electrode process was not very evident, reversibility deposition–stripping greatly improved. Orthophosphoric acid could be a viable additive decrease complexation anions improve stability Cu(II) chloro-complexes. Absorption spectroscopy demonstrated that phosphate ions do coordinate copper(II) but lead shift distribution toward coordinated species. Electrochemically, availability solution stabilized Cu(II)-rich led Cu(II)/Cu(I) process.

Electrochemical Behavior of Copper Electrode in Potassium Sulfide Solutions

The electrochemical behavior of copper electrode in 2M potassium sulfide solution was studied using cyclic voltammograms and potentiostatic polarization techniques. The morphology studies were applied using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive analysis of X-rays (EDAX) and X-ray powder diffraction. Three anodic peaks were observed in the anodic scan of cyclic voltammograms. ...

Cathodic reduction of bisulfite and sulfur dioxide in aqueous solutions on copper electrodes: an electrochemical ESR study.

The electrochemical reduction of aqueous solutions of sulfite under acidic conditions on copper electrodes is reported, and a mechanism is proposed. Cyclic voltammetry at a copper disk suggests the operation of two reduction processes, the dominant process depending on solution pH. At very low pH (0-2), sulfur dioxide is reduced in a two-electron, two-proton reaction, but at higher pH (2-5), bi...

Study of the Formation of Stable High Concentrated Monochloramine Solutions

Disinfection is a very important step in the water treatment independent on the water application. Chlorination is the practice adopted in many industries, but chlorine can cause environmental damage and health hazards in the industry. A less aggressive agent to the environment is desirable to be found. The objective of this work is to prepare stable monochloramine solutions without any residua...

Structure of Concentrated HCl Solutions

A pentagonal ring is suggested as the basic structural unit of HCl(H2O)6 and (HCl)2(H2O)6 in solution. Modeled after the X-ray structure of a caged H13O6 compound, it contains bridged H5O2 and Clions, each with a coordination number around four. In the most concentrated HCl solutions, one of the ligands solvating Clis HCl, giving rise to a bichloride moiety. The proposed structure explains qual...
